A Note From our Co-Founders…

The Riveter is donating proceeds to The Council on American-Islamic Relations this week.

From Monday, November 14 through today (Friday, November 18), The Riveter will donate all net proceeds from online sales of Issues 3, 4 and 5 to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an organization that works to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

At this point in time, we feel resources dedicated toward the monitoring of systemic, aggravated acts of racism targeted at the Islamic-American population are extraordinarily crucial.

In the wake of a contentious, vitriolic election already infamous for the racist rhetoric that characterized President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign, CAIR has already mobilized in the past few days to provide their Islamic-American communities with information about their rights while simultaneously offering resources for the protection of said rights.

We hope that those who have yet to purchase a copy of The Riveter will be incentivized by this opportunity to engage in our own community’s attempt to not just participate in the discourse that’s taken place in the wake of the 2016 election, but also to engage in actionable, long-lasting efforts.

Thanks for your support,

Kaylen Ralph and Joanna Demkiewicz, co-founders of The Riveter
