Co-founder / Online Editorial, Editorial Development, Brand Director
Kaylen Ralph is The Riveter’s co-founder, editorial development director and brand director. She’s passionate about experimenting with the intersection of lifestyle brands and magazines. She’s also a freelance researcher for The Sager Group. She dreams of a future in which “niche” publications are the new mainstream, thanks to thoughtful and deliberate brand partnerships, ideally fostered by her own publishing house (#dreambig). Born and raised in Rockford, IL, Kaylen currently calls Chicago home. You can find her curled up on her blue velvet sofa, glass of red wine (read, rye whiskey on the rocks) in hand, usually with Sex and the City on in the background. She loves hardcover books, agate stone, fur and her two younger sisters (and not necessarily in that order).
Joanna R. Demkiewicz
Co-founder / Editorial Director
Joanna (Yanna) is The Riveter’s editorial director and co-founder. She graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism in May 2013, just two months after co-launching TR with Kaylen; there, she majored in Magazine Journalism and minored in Women & Gender Studies. She is the publicist for Milkweed Editions, an independent press based in Minneapolis, and a freelance researcher/editor for The Sager Group, another independent press. Her favorite writers are Maureen O’Connor, Rebecca Solnit, Jia Tolentino, Taiye Selasi, and Maggie Nelson. She recently read Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich’s The Fact of the Body, and it blew her mind.
Anna Meyer is The Riveter’s Digital Editor and a Minneapolis native currently calling Lawrence, Kansas home. She spends most of her funds on concert tickets, traveling the world and doing all things fueled by her daily espresso. Her work has also appeared in Shine Text, Clover Letter and Inc. magazine. You can stay updated with her work via her personal website.
Grace Birnstengel is an editor for The Riveter. She lives in Minneapolis, and she studied journalism and gender, women and sexuality studies at the University of Minnesota. She writes the “New Radio” music column for The Riveter. Aside from music, she’s into RuPaul’s Drag Race and loitering at coffee shops.
Grace Molteni is a Midwest born and raised designer, illustrator, and self-proclaimed bibliophile, currently calling Chicago home. She believes strongly in a “beer first, always, and only” rule, and is forever seeking the perfect dumpling. For more musings, work, or just to say hey check her out on Instagram.

Ellie Peterson is a Minneapolis native studying retail merchandising and art history at the University of Minnesota. Mariana is a graphic designer based in Minneapolis. Aside from design, her other biggest passion is music. Aspiring to be an album art designer, she spends her time discovering and listening to music on the daily and reimagining her favorite artists’ album artwork. When not designing or exhausting her Spotify account, she can be found either searching for the best cocktail in the cities or shopping around local record stores.

At night, she blogs with her bestie Katie Currid about all things lifestyle (read: cats, crafts and snacks) at Freckle & Fair.
